London, UK (September 29, 2015) – A charity four-ball bringing together golf media, executives and avid golf consumers, provided the setting for a three year partnership launched today between St. Kitts and Barmy Army Golf to raise the profile of the destination in the UK golf market.
The partnership, which was announced by the Honourable Lindsay Grant at a special St. Kitts Barmy Army Golf Day hosted by Burhill Golf Club in the County of Surrey, represents the first strategic golf partnership for the destination in the UK.
Over a three year period, the initiative will focus on the hosting of annual St. Kitts & Barmy Army exclusive golf events, with the inaugural being launched in November 2016
.
The partnership joins alliances such as the St. Kitts & Nevis Admiral’s Cup Pro-Am, now in its 6th successful year and the St. Kitts 2-ball Shootout, launched in August 2015 in conjunction with the Golf Association of Canada.
Speaking at the launch event, Honourable Lindsay F.P. Grant, Minister of Tourism, International Trade, Industry and Commerce, said, “We are proud to partner with such a unique and successful organization as the Barmy Army and I am looking forward with much optimism over the next three years and the international attention this partnership will bring to our destination. Importantly, such a partnership will greatly help in making the game more accessible and affordable.” |
