After careful deliberation, Kyle Marshall is without doubt the best choice for Person of the Year 2016.
This social media guru stands out from the pack for his brutal honesty, classic wit and keen insight on local current affairs.
Thousands of Kittitians and Nevisians at home and abroad were kept glued to Kyle’s highly popular Facebook page during the year 2016 in order to check out his video blogs [vlogs] and tune into his exciting live streams.
Thanks to his powerful “tell-it-like-it-is” personality, we have all been able to stay entertained and become educated, whether the topic was Carnival pageantry, crime, fashion, immigration, or the environment. Unlike other Facebook bloggers, there was always something to learn and analyse from Kyle’s popular vlogs.
Not only does Kyle have a fantastic way with words, but his articulate sense of humour is unmatched.
In addition to this, his courage to be himself no matter what, makes him a role model for young boys and girls alike. Like it or not, Kyle is the foremost advocate for the rights of our LGBT community and his bravery in the face of hostility should be commended. He refuses to conform to society’s standards and he takes pride in remaining who he is regardless of who is offended.
As a successful entrepreneur, Kyle uses his platform to help pull others up, and to give back to the less fortunate in his homeland of St. Kitts and Nevis. He is also an exceptional motivational speaker, using his eloquent style to drive others to confidently achieve their goals.
Kyle’s constructive criticism may have rubbed some persons in 2016 the wrong way, however, he was always well-intentioned.
Even the St. Kitts-Nevis Times could not escape his criticism in 2016, and still one cannot help but admire Kyle’s approach to improve the social media landscape by encouraging better and more honest posts online.
For his extreme courage in the face of all odds, his big heart, his unique sense of humour and his determination to motivate and uplift others in his community, Kyle Marshall is indeed most deserving of the title PERSON OF THE YEAR 2016.
