Basseterre, St. Kitts, Monday, 12th March, 2018, (MyVueNews.com) –The recent killing of two sisters in Keys Village, is still dominating discussions on the subject of crime and violence in St. Kitts and Nevis.
But while members of the public debate the issues, the families of the murdered women are struggling to complete funeral arrangements.
Apparently in recognition of this challenge, the Government of St. Kitts & Nevis has confirmed its intention to offer some assistance.
A recent government release confirmed that help is coming to the families of 19 year old Naomi Finch and her 20 year old sister, Jimmyliah Finch.
Both were brutally murdered on 1st March in their home town. While Naomi is said to have died from homicidal manual strangulation, Jimmyliah died from multiple homicidal chop wounds and partial decapitation, according to the report from the pathologist.
During its last meeting, the Cabinet of the Government condemned the double homicide, said a press statement.
It also indicated that “The honourable Prime Minister met with the grieving families and agreed to provide some financial support to assist with the expenses for the funeral.”
Cabinet further undertook to ensure that counselling and other support services be offered to the grieving families, continued the statement.
