St.Lucia Labour Minister Arrested after Drunken Altercation with Police
St.Lucia Housing Minister Hon. Satnley Felix was detained by police after failing to comply with orders not to play loud music at an establishment in Rodney Bay during the early morning hours on Sunday (May 11).
The government minister was not charged with any crime, but was warned by police to stop playing loud music. However, he was released 15 minutes after the incident. This has since caused much public ridicule for the government minister.
Police reportedly asked Felix, who was in the company of a few persons at an entertainment bar in Rodney Bay on Sunday morning, to lower the music there. However, they refused to adhere to police orders. Felix was allegedly verbally abusive to one of the police officers, which led to his arrest at a local police station.
There are speculations that Felix was drunk.
Felix is expected to provide a press statement sometime later today.
