St.Kitts-Nevis National Assembly meets on Tuesday January 26, 2016

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 22, 2016 (SKNIS): The National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis will meet on Tuesday January 26, 2016, at 10:00 am, at the National Assembly Chambers at Government Headquarters.

According to the Order Paper, two Bills will have their first reading, while one Bill will have its second reading.

The Honourable Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Finance, Sustainable Development, National Security and People’s Empowerment will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the Licences on Businesses and Occupations (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Health, National Health Insurance, Human Settlements, Community Development, Gender Affairs, Social Services, Lands and Cooperatives will move the second reading of The Fisheries Bill, 2015, which had its first reading on November 17, 2015.

For the first time, the Government of National Unity has established going forward a standard practice in keeping with the Government’s policy to promote transparency and accountability by publishing the Bills set for first reading in the National Assembly on the Government’s website for ease of public access.
