The conference room of the Solid Waste Management Corporation, saw an impressive turn out of participants attending the first ever ‘Let’s Talk Menopause’ presentation and discussion organized by the Business and Professional Women’s Club of St. Kitts. The general public were invited to the presentation which took place on Thursday 15th November, to hear the accomplished Dr. Keriise Manchester, OB/GYN explain and discuss what Menopause is, the symptoms and impact on women’s lives and that of their family and also to provide recommendations and tips used to manage the symptoms, including alternative methods of treatment. She will dive deeper into the topic of alternative medicines, offering women helpful information on the use of treatments such as cannabis-based products and other alternative remedies as helpful aids, allowing them to look more into cbd oil and menopause and think about how it can help them.

The presentation was followed by engaging questions and discussion by the approximately eighty (80) persons attending the presentation. The participants came away with a better understanding of what to prepare for, and in some instances what they were currently going through and how to better manage the process. There was also information shared on specific medical conditions and the changes that might occur due to Menopause, as well as the emphasis that the freedom to explore the treatment options was up to you on an individual basis, as well as on the collective community. One of the observations made was that there was a need for more men attending these types of conferences so that they could better understand the symptoms and some of the changes that their female partners undergo just prior to, during and after menopause and to better understand some of the things they can do to assist in managing the process. The BPW Club of St. Kitts expects to hold similar engagements in the near future.
