Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 23, 2016 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrest and or Convictions and other Activities from the records of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. Activities from reports for 21-22 February.

ARREST:
ARREST: Curtnel Queeley of The Alley Sandy Point/ Challengers was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession with Intent to Supply committed on February 20, at Lodge Project. He was subsequently granted Bail in the sum of $10,000 and ordered to appear at the Basseterre Court on Monday, 4th April, 2016 at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon.

ARREST: Troy Francis of Upper Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and Possession with Intent to Supply. The incident occurred on February 20, at Lodge Project.

CONVICTIONS/COURT MATTERS: FROM HIGH COURT:-
In the case the DPP vs a juvenile who was indicted for Building Breaking and Larceny committed on November 17, 2013. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one (1) year at the New Horizon Rehabilitation Center.

Charles Webster who were indicted for Building Breaking and Larceny committed on November 17, 2013 and who pleaded guilty, was convicted and sentenced as follows, sentenced to serve two(2) years imprisonment to run concurrent with his four(4) years sentence.

Bailed: Dixie Taylor of Brick Kiln who was arrested and formally charged and cautioned on February 19 for the offence of Possession of Crack Cocaine was bailed in the sum of Fifteen Thousand ($15000.00) Dollars Eastern Caribbean Currency with Two (2) sureties. He was ordered to appear at the Charlestown Magistrate Court at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon on the 23rd February 2016.
In the case DPP vs Deshawn Leader of St. Paul’s who was indicted for Attempted murder and Shooting with intent concluded on Thursday, February 18, 2016. The Jury’s deliberated and returned a not guilty verdict on both accounts.

OTHER ACTIVITY:

TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS: There were six (6) traffic accidents on the nation’s roads on February 21 thru 22. One in Sandy Point, one in Buckley’s, one in Frigate Bay, one on the F. T. Williams Highway, one on the Pinney’s Bypass Road and one on Station Road in Gingerland. Minor injuries were sustained by the passenger involved in the Frigate Bay accident, they were treated and released from the J. N. France General Hospital.
There were six (6) traffic accidents on the nation’s roads on February 19 thru 20. One in Vaughan Village, Nevis; one in John England Village, one in Bath Village, Nevis, one in Stoney Grove, Nevis, one in Bird Rock, and one on Wellington Road. No serious injuries resulted from these accidents. Drivers are urged to use due attention when driving.

Police conducted a total of 92 Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches over the days of Friday 19, and Saturday 20 February. The check points and searches are a part of our ongoing activities of increased presence to ensure Citizen Safety by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes. The activity also enables Police interaction with community.
BUSH PATROL /MARIJUANA PLANTS UPROOTED:- A combined Police Force and St.Kitts Nevis Defence patrol reported that they conducted a bush patrol in a section of the mountains in the Zetlands and Old Manor Estate areas and they discovered a plot of land where persons are cultivating marijuana plants. The plants fifty three (53) in total were uprooted and seized by the Police.

The check points and searches are a part of our ongoing activities of increased presence to ensure Citizen Safety by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes.
