The Duke of Cambridge presided over an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, where he presented former CEO of the TDC Group of Companies Mr Dennis Micheal Morton with honours.
Morton who also serves as St.Kitts-Nevis’ Governor-General’s Deputy was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to commerce and industry.
Morton was among a host of Internationally acclaimed personalities who received honours including Heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill who will be made a dame during the ceremony, Academy and Tony award-winning actor Mark Rylance will be knighted for his services to theatre and Pop Star and wife of Football legend David Beckham, Mrs Victoria Beckham was made an Officer of the British Empire OBE.
Mr. Morton had a brief chat to Prince William as he received his order. Morton was accompanied by his wife Cynthia and his children Nigel and Kerry-Anne.

Corporation from 1976. In 1983, he assumed the position of Executive Director of the T.D.C. Group of Companies, filling the vacancy left by Warren Tyson upon his death. In 2001, Mr. Morton succeeded Mr. Michael King in becoming the Chairman of the Board of the T.D.C. Group of Companies, a position he held until his retirement from full time service of the T.D.C. Group of Companies on February 1, 2014. Mr. Morton continues as a director of T.D.C. in a non-executive capacity and serves as Marketing and Sales Consultant.
He also served as Deputy Chairman of The Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE) for over 10years, as President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CIC) for two 2 year terms, as a director of the Cave Hill School of Business for over 10 years and on a regional advisory committee to the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
Presently, Mr. Morton is the Honorary Consul-General for St. Kitts and Nevis to Turkey, Vice Chairman of the National Drug Council and Vice Chairman of the Council of the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society.
