Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #8, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, led the official handing over ceremony of a new climate-smart home in Conaree, showcasing the government’s commitment to sustainable housing solutions. Developed by East Coast Housing Development Limited in collaboration with the National Housing Corporation (NHC), the event symbolized a significant step towards addressing housing challenges in the region.

The ceremony, attended by Cabinet Ministers, government officials, and well-wishers, marked the culmination of efforts to provide affordable and resilient housing options. Ms. Shamara Huggins, a resident of Conaree, was announced as the proud recipient of the new home. Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew expressed delight in fulfilling Ms. Huggins’ dream of homeownership, emphasizing the government’s goal to bring happiness and stability to more families.

The climate-smart home comes fully equipped with essential amenities, including furniture, appliances, and one year of free internet service, ensuring a comfortable living environment for Ms. Huggins and her family. Prime Minister Drew reiterated the administration’s commitment to constructing 2400 homes across Saint Kitts and Nevis, showcasing superior quality and affordability.

Addressing the pressing issue of climate change, Prime Minister Drew stressed the importance of adapting to environmental challenges.
