NEVIS WINS 8TH LEEWARD ISLANDS DEBATING COMPETITION TITLE
Team Nevis amassed 578 points to defeat last year’s champions Antigua with 489 points in the Leeward Islands Debating Competition Finals held on Sunday 26 February at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre.
Host team Nevis was represented by Rol-J Williams and Seconded by Gabriella Brantley.
In Sunday night’s Final, Nevis proposed the topic, “the atrocity of our age is the billions of dollars spent on sports”.
The Best Speaker of the Finals was Nevis’ Gabriella Brantley, daughter of Nevis Deputy Premier and Federal Minister of Foreign Hon. Mark Brantley
The Best Overall Speaker of the 45th Annual LIDC was Kejel Smithen of Nevis.
This was Team Nevis’ 8th LIDC Title . Antigua and St.Kitts have the most number of Titles with 10 each.
