Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 13, 2018 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating an incident in which a man died after experiencing difficulty at sea.
Investigations so far have revealed that Michael Henry Dunn, a national of the United Kingdom who was 65 years of age, was visiting the federation with his wife on Thursday, April 12. They went on a snorkeling excursion at Shitten Bay at about 10:30 a.m. After a few minutes in the water, witnesses say he appeared to be gasping for air. He was taken from the water and placed back on the vessel and administered CPR by the crew members. The Emergency Medical Service arrived at the Marina at Port Zante to assist when the vessel returned; however, Dunn was not breathing and was later pronounced dead by the District Medical Doctor.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed at a later date. Police investigations are continuing.
