July 27th (ZIZ News):- Kittitians and Nevisians in Anguilla  have made a call on the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis to consider improving its communication with nationals living in Anguilla and surrounding islands. The call was made during a Townhall MEETING with St.Kitts-Nevis PRIME Minister Dr. Hon Timothy Harris and Minister Ian “Patches” Liburd and scores of nationals.

“There are a number of Kittitians and Nevisians in these areas. We have embassies in countries where we don’t have Kittitians and Nevisians and I’m not sure of the wisdom behind some of these embassies being in those places because I feel the embassies, consuls or whatever should really serve the interests of the people in the Diaspora,” said Anguillan based National Dernard Wattley.

Wattley stated that  there are many nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis currently living in Anguilla, St. Maarten and St. Eustatius. Such nationals, he said, can benefit from the opening of an embassy or consulate.

“I want the government to seriously consider putting in place someone, some mechanism to keep us informed, abreast, so that even though we’re here, it could be almost like living in St. Kitts or Nevis. People have passport issues, people have concerns about housing and all kinds of other issues. There must be something put in place to keep us abreast and connected, not just around election time,” he said.
