Kidnappers, Sex Offenders Go Before Appeals Court Next Week

- St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); The Court of Appeal of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court will sit in St. Kitts next week and some twelve criminal appeals on the docket and five civil matters.
The four men convicted in 2013 of kidnapping a banker and his wife are appealing their high court conviction. Their case is scheduled to be heard by the Court of Appeals Justices on Monday.
Also appealing their criminal conviction at the high court level are Troy Hendrickson, convicted of unlawful carnal knowledge; Donley Saunders convicted of fraudulent conversion in 2012; Quincy Davis, convicted of unlawful carnal knowledge in 2013; Julian Charles, also convicted of unlawful carnal knowledge in 2013; Wendell Welcome, convicted of unlawful carnal knowledge in 2014 and Akiel Parris, convicted of causing grievous bodily harm in 2015.
At the Magisterial level Sankofi Macabee is appealing his sentence for possession of a controlled drug; Ellia Jeffers is appealing her conviction for drug smuggling; and Zambi and Marlon Heath along with Joycelyn Hodge are appealing their conviction for drug possession.
A number of other criminal and several civil appeals are up for status hearing.
The Court of Appeals will sit in St. Kitts from June 12 to 16.
