Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 10, 2015) – This past Friday morning, St. Kitts met with top management from United Airlines at United’s headquarters in Chicago to formalize the new peak season service operating from December 19, 2015 through April 30, 2016 with Saturday non-stop flights to St. Kitts from the carrier’s Metropolitan New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

“While the new United service to St. Kitts was announced last month and flights can now be booked, it is important to continue dialog about shared goals and objectives as well as how we plan to meet them to ensure that our combined efforts are successful,” stated Minister Grant Minister of Tourism, International Transport, Industry & Commerce. “This meeting was an important part of that dialog and helped further develop our partnership with one of the largest U.S. legacy airlines.”

To provide a visual glimpse into St. Kitts’ tourism product for the United team, Minister Grant and CEO Racquel Brown of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority showcased the brand new destination video.  After seeing the video, Elias Manneh, International Marketing Manager for United (the only meeting attendee from United absent from the above photo), surprised the St. Kitts team by revealing a new landing page dedicated solely to St. Kitts that has already been constructed for placement on United’s website.

Following these presentations, Andrew Buchanan, Managing Director International Planning, Network Planning & Scheduling for United, sat down with Minister Grant for the ceremonial signing of the contract.

The overall atmosphere of cooperation and partnership continued through the conclusion of the meeting, during which Minister Grant invited the United delegation to travel on the inaugural flight and stay for a visit in St. Kitts.
