Dr. Ricardo R. Neil Appointed Goodwill Ambassador for Science and Technology by St. Kitts and Nevis
The Cabinet of St. Kitts and Nevis is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Ricardo R. Neil as a Goodwill Ambassador for Science and Technology. This prestigious designation recognizes Dr. Neil’s distinguished contributions to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and its expanded version, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
Dr. Neil, an expert in mechanical and industrial technology, serves as the Chairman of both the St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) and OECS Robotics Associations. He has dedicated his career to advancing technology, education, and innovation throughout the Caribbean.
In his new role, Dr. Neil will champion the integration of science and technology into education, advocate for entrepreneurship in the technology sector, and support renewable energy initiatives such as solar photovoltaic and geothermal energy projects. Furthermore, he will work to position St. Kitts and Nevis as a global leader in science, technology, and sustainable development.
Dr. Neil’s influence extends far beyond his home country. As the founder and chairman of the St. Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association (SKNRA), he has propelled the organization to international acclaim. Under his leadership, the St. Kitts and Nevis Robotics Team has achieved significant successes in global competitions, showcasing the nation’s innovation and technical expertise.
Additionally, Dr. Neil serves as Chairman of the International Information Technology Academy of Excellence Limited (IITAE Ltd) and as a Senior Lecturer at Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. His academic accomplishments include a Doctorate of Science in Information Technology, a Master’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree, and a teaching diploma, along with numerous published textbooks.
Dr. Neil’s contributions to education and technology have left a profound impact on the Caribbean. His initiatives, such as the first Competency-Based Capstone Project for IT, and his work in IT and robotics education, continue to inspire innovation and academic excellence across the region.
