Depositors of 30 Year Defunct St.Kitts Bank of Commerce to Receive over $15 million
Basseterre, St.Kitts (July 28th):-Depositors of the now 30 year defunct Bank of Commerce received some Fantastic News today during the second sitting of Parliament under the new Team UNITY Administration in St.Kitts-Nevis . Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr. Hon Timothy Harris announced during the sitting that depositors of the defunct Bank of Commerce will finally see a resolution to over 30 nyears of heartache over monies lost when the bank closed some 30 years ago . Prime Minister Harris declared that $15 million will be paid to those depositors who lost monies at the closure .
The bank was closed in February of 1985 with hundreds of depositors unable to access their deposits which in most cases were simply unavailable as the bank was put into compulsory liquidation by the Court.
