PRESS RELEASE
Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis (4 September 2019)—The Chevening Alumni Association of St Kitts and Nevis is pleased to announce the launch of its ‘Chevening Applications Support Scheme’, the latest addition to its campaign to help more nationals and residents secure the all-expenses-paid Chevening scholarship.
The Chevening Applications Support Scheme is designed to provide step-by-step support and guidance to all individuals applying for the Chevening scholarship which funds Master’s Degree studies in the United Kingdom. Each applicant is paired with a member of the Association who will provide advice, answer queries, review applications and generally assist applicants throughout the applications process. The Support Scheme will also offer a series of hour-long weekend webinars throughout September for the benefit of individuals who are still at the early stages of their application.
Leader of the Association, Mrs Sonia Boddie-Thompson noted her excitement and optimism about this new initiative: “Our Association is extremely excited to once again launch another initiative which will redound to the benefit of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. The Chevening Scholarship which is now in its 36th year has benefitted over 20 nationals to date and we are very proud that for nine consecutive years between the period 2010-2018, a national secured this prestigious scholarship. Unfortunately, for the year 2019 no national was able to earn this scholarship, and this is another reason why we believe it is critically important to offer the support at this time.”
“We are very convinced that once we are able to provide the necessary guidance and assistance, drawing from our own experiences, to those who are desirous of winning this scholarship, we can broaden the pool of applicants and increase the chance of ensuring that St. Kitts and Nevis is included in the list of countries who have been awarded a Chevening scholarship in the year 2020. We therefore strongly encourage nationals to apply and to contact us for support. We stand ready and willing to assist.”
For more details on how you can access the free assistance from the ‘Chevening Applications Support Scheme’, search ‘St. Kitts and Nevis Chevening Alumni Group’ on Facebook and leave us a message, or email us at cheveningskn@gmail.com.
The deadline for the Chevening Scholarship is 5 November 2019. Applicants for the Chevening Scholarship must have an undergraduate degree, and at least two years of work experience.
The Chevening Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship to undertake any Master’s degree course at any university in the United Kingdom. For more information about the scholarship, visit https://www.chevening.org/scholarships/.
