GEORGETOWN, GUYANA, JULY 6^TH, 2016 (PRESS SEC) – This morning (July 6^th), Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris received a positive update on the health of his dear friend and colleague, the Honourable Vance Amory, Premier of Nevis.  Premier Amory has been discharged from the hospital in Toronto, Canada, with a clean bill of health, as test results show there is no cause for concern.

The symptoms of severe pain that the Honourable Premier presented with yesterday were digestion related.

Prime Minister Harris and Premier Amory spoke on the phone this morning, and the Premier is in good spirits.

Both the Honourable Premier and the Honourable Prime Minister wish to thank everyone who prayed for and thought about Mr. Amory during the brief period of distress.

Last night, Prime Minister Harris had asked Kittitians and Nevisians at home and abroad to pray for the full and speedy recovery of the Premier, and also informed the nation that Mr. Amory’s loving wife, Mrs. Verni Amory, was en route to Canada to be at his side.

Premier Amory, who is Senior Minister and Minister of Labour, Social Security and Ecclesiastical Affairs in the Unity Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, looks forward to resuming his work on behalf of the people.

Prime Minister Harris is in Guyana attending the 37^th Regular Meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government, which will end today.
