ST. THOMAS, USVI( VI Consortium) — A man was shot dead today at about 9:48 a.m. on Veterans Drive (St. Thomas Waterfront), in the vicinity of First Express and Burger Maxx, according to Kevin Jackson, VIPD public information officer.
Officers made contact with the unresponsive male who was later identified as Shane Heyliger, 34 of Altona and Welgunst, according to police.
Heyliger expired on the scene as a result of the gunshot wound.
Jackson said no other information was made available and asked anyone with information on this homicide to call the Investigations Bureau at 340-714-9823, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
