Minister of Energy Liburd get’s the “Thumbs Up” from President Maduro as the Venezuelan Leader Pledges Continued Assistance to the Federation
Caracas, Venezuela (August 15th 2015):-The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros is giving Minister of Energy Ian “Patches” Liburd the “Thumbs Up” on his efforts to bring relief to the people of the federation of St.Kitts-Nevis.
Minister Liburd along with Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Mark Brantley engaged the Venezuelan President and other officials in discussions. As a result the Venezuelan leader pledged continued assistance to the people of St.Kitts-Nevis. He pledged US$3 Million to assist in bringing Solar power to ALL schools and some households in St.Kitts and Nevis. This comes after their EC$16 Million donation to the Ex-Sugar Workers of the country.
The agreement to provide Solar Energy to schools and some households was signed earlier this week in Caracas, during the IV extraordinary meeting of the Political Council of The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America –Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP). The Political Council of the ALBA-TCP is composed of the foreign ministers of each member country and has the function of advising the President’s Council in strategic issues and propose foreign policy topics for discussion in this instance.
