St.Kitts-Nevis International Striker Out of Tonight’s World Cup Qualifier
St.Kitts-Nevis International striker Ryan Robbins is out of tonight’s World Cup Qualifying match against El Salvador. The match was to be his third international cap playing for St Kitts and Nevis as they attempt to qualify for Russia 2018. Robbins however, has been forced to fly home after picking up an injury.
Robbins, who scored 21 league goals last season for English Club Stamford AFC, injured his Achilles’ tendon training with the squad in Miami ahead of their home and away double header with higher ranked El Salvador.
Robbins said on Twitter: “ Gutted I ain’t in St Kitts with the rest of the Squad #OneTeamOneGoal #SKN #SKPositive”
In an earlier message he confirmed that he is heading back to the UK for treatment and he felt ‘gutted’ to be missing out on the chance of playing for his country again.
The second leg of the qualifying round takes place on Tuesday.
