Ms. Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers made history when on Saturday July 14th she was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain. Even before being crowned she had already made history by making being the first Anguillian to become a finalist as well as the first black contestant to win the Miss Universe Great Britain Pageant.
The grand finale was held at The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre, Newport. Dee-Ann is the first ever black woman to be crowned Miss Universe Great Britain. She will now represent Great Britain at the prestigious Miss Universe 2018 pageant.
Dee-Ann was crowned by her predecessor Miss Universe Great Britain 2017 Anna Burdzy. The 25-year-old has a degree in law and is passionate about football. She has also competed in Commonwealth Games in athletics on two occasions.
Dee-Ann has also previously won Miss Anguilla Pageant in 2017. She competed with 32 other contestants to bag the title of Miss Universe Great Britain 2018. At the same event, Simren Vernon was crowned first runner-up and Cara Bianca Frew was adjudged second runner-up.
