Hon. Hamilton Delivers Queen’s Birthday Greeting and Shares in Celebration of St.Kitts-Nevis’ Most Recent Centenarian
Mrs Lilian Griffin the federation of St.Kitts-Nevis’ most recent centenarian celebrated the milestone birthday in a simple but very significant and symbolic way this past week.
The 100 year old was paid a special visit by Minister of Social Affairs the Hon. Eugene Hamilton who
made a special delivery. Hon. Hamilton brought a food hamper as well as a special personalized Birthday Greetting Card from Queen Elizabeth 2 herself.
The Queen’s card read: “I am so pleased to know that you are celebrating your one hundredth birthday. I send my congratulations and best wishes to you on such a special occasion”.
There are currently some 15 Centenarians on St. Kitts including Griffin along with James Pemberton, Edward Bailey-Solomon, Amos Davis and Samuel Depusoir, who are 100 years old; Alfred Tyson and Una Duporte are both 101; and Gladys Williams and Louisa Isaac are 102. On Nevis, the centenarians are Celian Powell, 104 years of age; Doris Claxton and William Douglas, 102; Hisabelle “Dowie” Elliott and Florence Liburd, 101; and Rosetta Hull, 100.
