POLICE CHASE ENDS IN SHOOTOUT AND CRASH
Frigate Bay, St.Kitts (October 30th , 2016):- Two men are in custody after what has been described as a Hollywood Movie-Like high speed chase and shootout. According to eyewitnesses in the Halfmoon Area a white police van gave chase to a blue vehicle . Shots were fired before the van was able to force the car off the road. At least one eyewitness claimed that shots were again fired and at least 5 to 6 police officers exited the Van and apprehended the two men and took them into custody . It is unclear who discharged the shots
Police have only confirmed that two males are in custody relating to the incident.
The federation has been on heightened alert in wake of the robbery of owners of a local security firm which resulted in the death of one of the owners Arlene Nisbett-Liburd. Social Media has been littered with photos of video camera footage of individuals who are being linked to the recent murder and robbery. The Royal St.Christopher-Nevis Police Force have yet to issue any official release or advisort confirming the photos as persons who are being officially sought in connection with the Friday evening Robbery and Murder.
The recent crime upsurge has come within the last ten days since the
RSS Regional Security Services left the Islands after a 7 week assignment to assist local law enforcement. During the period the JNF Hospital reported Zero Murders and Zero cases of Gun Shot Trauma. Compared to 2015 when there were at least 2 murders and multiple cases of gun shot trauma.
Citizens are using social and tradional media to loudly and vociferously call for the Team UNITY Administration to re-engage the RSS with a view of seeing their speedy return to the islands. Prime MINISTER Dr. Timothy Harris in his most recent Press Conference indicated that the RSS assignment in St.Kitts-Nevis was hugely successful and the group will be returning some time before year end.
