London (13th May 2015): A very special prize-winner, Michael Pritchett, will soon be enjoying a fun-filled week in St Kitts, as well as surprising some of his Kittitian family, after successfully winning the St. Kitts holiday in a British Airways and Timeout Caribbean Escape competition.
The Competition, part of British Airways May Caribbean Campaign in the UK, invited entrants to select and personalise an island postcard at Escape.timeout.com explaining why they wanted to escape to their chosen island. Michael was one of hundreds of entrants who chose a St. Kitts Postcard out of five islands, quoting his reason for wanting to escape as “I have never been to St. Kitts and it would mean so much to me to visit the island where my mother lived.”
Michael and his wife, who joins him on the holiday, will be hosted at the Timothy Beach Resort during their stay in St. Kitts. Like many tourists before them, they will tour the scenic railway, explore the island on a 4 x 4, view historic Brimstone Hill Fortress and fly over the rainforest on the island’s zip-lining. A day trip to Nevis and a Catamaran trip will also be highlights on their visit along with experiences of island cuisine at Nirvana, Shiggidy Shack, El Fredo’s and other restaurants.
He said, “St. Kitts has always been on the top of a list of dream places to visit, so winning this competition is a fantastic opportunity for us to finally see the island and meet some family members.”
St. Kitts is one of five island destinations being highlighted as part of this British Airways Caribbean Sale which runs between May 5 and 26 2015. The island features in a number of exciting promotions and events in partnership with London’s leading Listings and Entertainments publication, Time Out.
Designed to drive bookings of flights and package holidays to St. Kitts, the three week campaign commenced with the Timeout Escapes Competition and a Caribbean Party which offered 150 consumers an opportunity to experience a ‘taste’ of St. Kitts and enjoy an evening of entertainment, foods and rums.
During Week Two, on Wednesday May 13 2015, St. Kitts participated in a thrilling British Airways experiential promotion at London’s Victoria Station which, this time, offered commuters a chance to win flights to the destination between 8.00 am and 8.00pm. With 25 pairs of flights to be won, the unique flight giveaway attracted thousands of entrants to a distinctive St. Kitts stand, located on the main concourse, which allowed them to immerse themselves in a typical St. Kitts ‘beach scene’ as they played to win.
