BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 24, 2019 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – As the Team Unity-led Government continues its mandate of empowering citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis through homeownership, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris will later this week present keys to newly constructed and furnished homes to two deserving individuals of Constituency Seven.

On Thursday, April 25 at 5pm, Prime Minister Harris will join family, friends and well-wishers, for a special ceremony at Catholic Street, where he will present Ms. Utah Hodge, a resident of Molineux village, with the keys to her brand-new house.

The Honourable Prime Minister will then hand over keys to a new home to Winnifred O’Loughlin at Bramble Crescent, Tabernacle, during a similar ceremony scheduled for Friday, April 26 at 10am.

This is not the first time Prime Minister Harris has responded positively to the individual households needs of residents within his constituency. In 2017, the prime minister mobilized entities within the private sector to assist in the construction of homes for Tabernacle resident, Agnes O’Loughlin, and Molineux resident, Mary O’Donoghue.

This week’s key presentation ceremonies will also further complement the Team Unity Government’s comprehensive housing solutions programmes that have so far benefited near 3,000 households in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The Government’s housing solutions programmes include the handing over of individual housing units; the HELP programme which assists individuals to the tune of $10,000 in repairs and construction of bathrooms; the First Time Homeowners Programme; the government employee mortgage financing (GEM) programme, as well as the widely acclaimed Hurricane Roof Rehabilitation Programme.
