Team SKN Ready, Set For the Arrival of the Icon Kim Collins
General Team Manager and Press Attaché Lester Hanley for the St.Kitts-Nevis Team at the Rio Olympics has told local media outlet WINN FM that Team SKN is Set and Ready to Welcome the Sprint Icon to his 5th Olympics. Hanley stated “The team has prepared for him.”
No doubt excited by his eventual presence The Team SKN carefully layed out Collins racing kit and gear as well as uniform in anticipation of his Arrival on Wednesday.
Collins is scheduled to run his first Heat on Saturday morning.
Collins pending arrival in Rio has generated quite a buzz both in St.Kitts-Nevis and Internationally and in particular in Rio where Collins is regarded as one of the celebrity athletes at the games. 40 year Old Collins will be the oldest sprinter at the Rio Games and the first male sprinter ever participate in five Olympic games.
The Athletics Icon has had a spectacular 2016 season having ran a personal best of 9.93 seconds in the 100 meters in Germany, making him the first 40-year-old in history to go under 10s in the 100m Sprint. The mark eclipsed his previous record mark of 9.96 from London in 2014, when he was 38..
