First Time Championship Finalists the St.Peters Runnerz a confident that they will be able to overcome the talent  and the experience of the former 7 time Premier Division Champions Horsford’s Ghetto Roots. The Runnerz booked their spot in the “A” Division finals after an impressive 2 game sweep of the Shottaz Basketball Club last week. The Runnerz won both games handsomely and booked a spot in the finals for the first time in the clubs short history. The club which is an off shoot of the St.Peters Rockers 11 club has been in the league for less than 4 seasons.  Their “A” Division Finals berth means that they will be promoted to the “A” Division for the 2016 season.

The team had been led during the early part of the season by SKNABA Legend Glen Ghost Phillip who coached the team until midway through the season. The team no doubt benefitted from Phillip’s leadership as they ended the season ranked Number 2 behind the Sandy Point Falcons. With Phillip now absent and concentrating on coaching his former team Rams Hitters it is left to be seen how well Runnerz would favour against an experienced and talented team like the Horsford’s Ghetto Roots in the “A” Division 5 game Finals Series.

The First Game of the “A” Division Finals Series is on Tuesday August 18^th at 7:30pm at Basketball City.
