Basseterre, St.Kitts (April 25^th 2016):– St.Kitts-Nevis is showing significant growth in yet another major indicator of economic activity with the 100% increase in Auto Imports to the federation .

According to stats provided by the St.Christopher Air and Sea Port Authority  Auto Imports grew by some 100%  from 6600 Tonnes of vehicles imported  during the first quarter of 2015 compared to  13,215 during similar period in 2016. The amount is also an almost  400% increase over  the number of auto import tonnes in 2014 during similar period.

The Federation was recently ranked as the Fastest and highest growing economy in Caricom and the second highest in the Caribbean and Latin America.  The country has no doubt benefitted from renewed confidence precipitated by the historic Change of Government in February 2016 which saw the ascension of Dr. Timothy Harris and his Team UNITY Administration to the leadership of the country.

In December of 2015 a record 230 Vehicles were sold as compared to 155 the year before during same period.

In reference to the recent plethora of record breaking economic performances by the federation under the new Team UNITY Administration Prime Minister Dr. Timtohy Harris stated ““Team Unity does it better. The competence is on our side…….there are greater standards of transparency and accountability” and “able fiscal management. This speaks to vibrancy in the economy.”
