Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris on Friday on behalf of the people of St.Kitts-Nevis joined the rest of CARICOM in support for Cuba.
In his address to the 73rd UN General Assembly St.Kitts-Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris made a clarion call for the normalization of relations between Cuba and the US.
PM Harris told the over 160 World Leaders “We also continue to voice our support of our Caribbean sister Cuba and to call for the normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States of America to alleviate the real suffering caused to the Cuban people of this policy of exclusion. “
St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of Cuba share a mutually beneficial partnership, with assistance being provided to the federation in the area of human resource development through the provision of now scores if not hundreds of scholarships.
Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris voiced St. Kitts and Nevis’ support of Cuba and called for the normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States of America “to alleviate the real suffering caused to the Cuban people of this policy of exclusion.”
St. Kitts and Nevis has received strong support from the Cuban government toward the social development of the Kittitian and Nevisian people, particularly in the areas of health and education.
