PM Harris Wraps Week of USA Engagements with Hugely Successful Townhall Meeting with St.Kitts-Nevis Nationals
Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris wrapped up a week long series of engagements in the United States on Saturday with a hugely successful town-hall meeting with nationals at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 777 East 222 Street in the Bronx. The Team Unity Government represented by PM Harris and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Mark Brantley gave an account of their stewardship for the last 8 months of their 5 year mandate to the packed hall of over 200 Nationals of the Federation .
Prime Minister Timothy Harris and Foreign affairs Minister Mark Brantley fielded questions from attentive citizens in the diaspora eager to hear about the Team Unity initiatives at home and to get a better understanding of how Team Unity is prepared to serve.
Earlier in the week Dr. Harris Delivered two moving addresses to the United Nations General Assembly on the occasion of the Post 2015 UN Summit and at the regular Annual General Assembly meeting of the United Nations representing his 8th and 9th occasion on which Dr. Harris has addressed the United Nations General Assembly.
PM Harris and Minister Brantley were supported at the UN Assembly by a number of nationals who attended the sessions to give their support . Dr Harris, Minister Brantley and UN Ambassador HE Sam Condor used the opportunity to engage the nationals and thanked them for attending the session and showing and giving their support to the SKN Contingent.
Prime Minister Dr. Harris also participated in a UNAIDS symposium and made a call for CARICOM to end AIDS by 2030.
The UN General Assembly Meetings provided an occasion for PM Harris to dialogue with the UN Secretary general Ban Kim Moon. Dr Harris was also one of the world leaders treated at a reception with President Obama and Mrs Obama at Palace Hotel. Prime Minister Harris also participated in a heads only meeting with the UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
