PEOPLE’S LABOUR PARTY TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE- ANNUAL CONVENTION SET FOR JUNE 17TH

Plans are currently underway to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of The People’s Labour Party

(PLP). The PLP’s non-discriminatory approach to politics in St. Kitts and Nevis has made it the Party which attracts persons from all sections of society.

The introduction of the PLP on Monday 17th June, 2013 changed the political landscape in the country and offered the electorate new hope for a stronger, safer future. According to its constitution, the PLP has pledged to uphold democratic principles, integrity, accountability and transparency generally and in public life. Also to promote a political culture of tolerance, mutual respect, civility and enlightenment. The PLP will protect the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for all, while ensuring the economic empowerment of all citizens and residents.

Since its inception, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris has been the Political Leader of the People’s Labour Party.  He also served as the Federation’s 3rd Prime Minister. He said that he is not only proud of the achievements of the party thus far, but is also excited about its future. The PLP is the only viable option for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Commenting on the advent and political success of the PLP, Dr. Harris said, “I must thank the people of the Federation for giving me, in my capacity as Leader of the People’s Labour Party, the privilege and honour to lead my beloved country as Prime Minister on two occasions and, of course, very special thanks to my constituents who have repeatedly demonstrated strong confidence in my leadership. Our still young and growing PLP received the second largest number of votes in the 2022 General Elections so again, on behalf of PLP, I express sincere gratitude to the electors. PLP will continue to serve the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. Indeed our people are yearning for quality and distinguished leadership which characterizes PLP from its inception.”

The PLP will be celebrating Ten (10) years of committed service to the people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. The PLP will further observe this milestone at its annual convention as part of celebratory activities. The Private Session will be on Thursday, 15th June, 2023, which will be followed by the Public Session scheduled for Saturday, 17th June, 2023, at the Tabernacle

Playing Field. Other activities to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the People’s Labour Party will be announced subsequently.
