Nevis WICB Massage Therapist Set to Enter the Political Arena

West Indies Team Massage Therapist and former Leeward Islands Cricketer Virgil Browne is set to most likely be the latest personality to throw his hat in the political bull ring on Nevis.

Browne will replace former St.Kitts-Nevis Attorney-General  Patrice Nisbett as the  St. James candidate for the Nevis Opposition party the Nevis Reformation Party  Nisbett and the NRP has never won the St.James seat which is currently held by Alexis Jeffers who has been described by most as the hardest working politician in Nevis.

Although no official announcement has been made Browne seems  ready to run for the NRP and might be making his debut very soon. In a social media post over the weekend Browne gave a hint regarding his politics and his political future. Browne posted “I had the honour of being at NRP’s convention almost 2 weeks ago and I must say wow!! Who say they dead, who say they not together, who say they are not strong?? Not a ting go so!! It was like renewable energy, a breath of fresh air. If you want the best for Nevis GO GREEN!!!”

“Virgil Browne will certainly be a breath of fresh air for the NRP and no doubt the future of the NRP will lay on his young vibrant shoulders. Unfortunately for him and his party he will be competing in a seat that his party has never won in at least the last 10 tries. In fact the former candidate Hon. Patrice Nisbet failed to win the seat in at least 10 tries. As appealing as Browne is he would have to pull off a near miracle to reverse that trend anytime soon” said a Nevis Political Observer.

Browne played for the Leeward Islands cricket team  from 2004 to 2006, as a formidable left-arm slow bowler whose best first-class haul in an innings was 8 for 129. He went on to study air traffic control, meteorology and massage therapy and was appointed massage therapist for the West Indies in their 2007 World Cup campaign. He then joined the Antigua-based Stanford Twenty20 organisation before becoming a permanent fixture with West Indies and working with the Antigua Hawksbills in the CPL. He joined the Patriots in the dual role of trainer/massage therapist in 2015.

With the Nevis Island Elections due within the next year it is widely expected that Browne will be officially announced as the new candidate by years end if not sooner.
