More questions are being raised regarding the Iran St.Kitts Diplomat Passport Scandal. The Dr. Denzil Douglas led St.Kitts-Nevis government has been unable to properly address the many questions and concerns raised by the exposure of what has turned out to be an international scandal involving the possible sale of diplomatic passports to persons from the Middle East in particular Iran. Concerns were first raised by the Canadian border police who in July stopped an Iranian by the name of Alireza Moghdhan . According to a Cabinet submission by St.Kitts-Nevis Minisiter of Foreign Affairs Hon. Patrice Nisbett, Moghadhan presented a Diplomatic Passport of St.Kitts-Nevis and declared to the border officials that he was visiting to meet with the Canadian Prime Minister. It is reported that Moghdhan told the border officials that he paid $1million for the passport. It is unclear whether he meant US Currency, EC Currency or Dirham the currency of the United Arab Emirates.
In an article by The National and written by Pretti Kannan it stated that UAE residents pay Dh1.4m for a Caribbean passport Read more:http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae-news/uae-residents-pay-dh1-4m-for-a-caribbean-passport#ixzz2mW4Cdyk6
Citizens of the Twin Island Federation are up in arms over the scandal and many questions have been raised and remain not properly answered by the Government.
Some of the issues, questions and concerns raised include: –
1) The corruption of the payment of $1 million dollars for a diplomatic passport of St. Kitts and Nevis.
o Who authorized and or approved such payment
o Who received the funds, and
o For what purposes were these funds used.

Citizens are further asking if the Diplomat Passport was issued at the St.Kitts-Nevis Embassy in Dubai. It has been confirmed that in the past passports have been issued at various St.Kitts-Nevis embassies around the world. Thus many are questioning if Moghadhan was issued his diplomat passport at the St.Kitts-Nevis embassy in Dubai? And if he paid the Consul-General there the alleged $1million for his passport ? The Consul-General at the St.Kitts-Nevis Embassy in Dubai is Ms Alex Woodley . Ms Woodley is also the mother of the children of Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas
It is clear this issue is concerning many citizens of the Caribbean Nation as the matter has the potential to jeopardize their current Visa Free access privilege to places like Canada and over 150 other nations throughout the world.
Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition the Hon. Mark Brantley as well as Dr. the Hon Timothy Harris The Leader of the Majority Opposition Alliance known as Team UNITY has called for an Independent Investigation of the matter. In response to his call Dr Harris was stripped of his own Diplomatic passport at the St.Kitts-Nevis airport on Monday. The stripping of Dr Harris’ Diplomatic passport is seen as a retaliation to his exposure of the Iran Diplomat Passport Scandal.
Dr. Harris in response to the stripping of his diplomatic status said he was not surprised as he saw the move as typical of Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas’ modus operandi .
