HUGE TURNOUT, UNSTOPPABLE VIBES! PLP’s FIRST EVER EAST BASSETERRE WORKERS DAY FUN DAY & FESTIVAL DECLARED A MASSIVE SUCCESS

Basseterre, St. Kitts — A sea of smiling faces, jubilant music, overflowing support, and a resounding message of gratitude marked the People’s Labour Party’s (PLP) first-ever Workers Day Fun Day & Festival in East Basseterre—a vibrant celebration that will go down in political and cultural history as a roaring triumph.

Thousands of citizens and residents turned out in full force to celebrate the hardworking people of the Federation in a festive atmosphere filled with food, fun, entertainment, and unity. From early morning to late evening, the grounds buzzed with excitement as families, youth, and workers from all walks of life converged to celebrate Labour with the PLP.

In a stirring message to the people, PLP Leader and Former Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, expressed heartfelt gratitude:

“Thank you for celebrating Workers Day with us. It was truly a pleasure to spend time with you—our hardworking men and women—who continue to be the backbone of our nation. Your presence made the event meaningful, and your energy and commitment inspire us every day,” Dr. Harris declared.

The event wasn’t just about fun—it was a bold statement of solidarity. Booths spotlighted small businesses, DJs and live performers kept the energy high, and a community cookout brought people together in true Kittitian-Nevisian style. From children enjoying games and giveaways to elders sharing stories of labour struggles past, it was a full-circle moment of reflection and hope.

The PLP’s resounding success in East Basseterre—once seen as a political stronghold of their rivals—also sent a powerful message: the People’s Labour Party is growing, reaching, and resonating.

Dr. Harris concluded with a promise that echoed throughout the crowd:

“Though Workers Day has come to a close, we want to remind you that your service and contributions are valued every single day. Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more prosperous St. Kitts and Nevis.”

One Party. One People. One Powerful Movement.

The PLP’s East Basseterre Workers Day Fun Day wasn’t just a celebration—it was a movement in motion. And if the turnout is any indication, the people are marching forward with the PLP.
