Chevening Scholarship deadline is 8th November
Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis (24th October 2016) – The St. Kitts and Nevis Chevening Alumni Association is reminding nationals, that the deadline to apply for the prestigious Chevening Scholarship is Tuesday, 8th November, with a cut-off time of 7:00 a.m. (SKN local time).
The Chevening Scholarship is a fully-funded award given to individuals wanting to pursue a one-year Master’s degree in the United Kingdom. The award covers the cost of tuition, accommodation, books and return flight between St. Kitts and Nevis and the UK. Scholars are also given a monthly stipend to cover the cost of travel, food and entertainment whilst in the UK.
To be eligible for this scholarship, potential candidates should have an undergraduate degree equivalent to an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree in the UK, and should have at least two years’ work experience. Applicants should also ensure that they apply to three different UK university courses at the time of submitting the application. To apply, visit http://www.chevening.org/apply where you can set up your applicant account and get further information about the scholarship.
The St. Kitts-Nevis Chevening Alumni is advising applicants to submit their applications as early as possible, and to avoid the temptation of the last minute rush. Applicants are also encouraged to carefully research the three University courses they intend to apply to, balancing factors like the department’s ranking, the university reputation, and career prospects for graduates, the location of the campus, facilities available to students, and even the social experiences on offer.
The St. Kitts-Nevis Chevening Alumni is offering assistance to those who may require guidance in completing their applications. Persons interested in receiving assistance are asked to email Miss Sonia Boddie at rositaboddie@hotmail.com; Miss Kimberley Evelyn at kimberleye@gmail.com; Miss Jihan Williams at jihanwill@yahoo.com; Miss Kurlyn Merchant at kurlyn_m@yahoo.com or Mr. VonDez Phipps at vondezphipps@hotmail.com.
The generous Chevening Scholarship is awarded to persons who demonstrate the potential to be future leaders and are willing to return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after the award has ended. There are currently more than 43,000 Chevening Alumni around the world, who together comprise an influential and highly respected global network.
