Guyanese Woman Nabbed at Antigua Airport with $40,000 in Cocaine
Antiguan police arrested and charged 49 year old Carlin Jocelyn Jackson with charges of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to transfer, importation and being concerned in the supplying of cocaine.
The Guyanese woman was arrested and charged after a quantity of cocaine was found in her luggage when she arrived at the VC Bird International Airport on Tuesday.
Reports are that Jackson departed from Guyana the day prior and travelled via St.Lucia where she overnighted before returning to Antigua .
Police said her suspicious movements on the airport prompted narcotics officers who were on duty, to conduct a search of her luggage. The search turned up two false compartments inside her suitcase with two and a half pounds of cocaine hidden inside.
Jackson was taken into custody and charged. The drugs carry an estimated street value of EC$40,000.00
