ST.KITTS-NEVIS: Two Popular Entertainers Die
Two Popular entertainers have died. Popular Nevisian Entertainer David “Watusi” Wade and Kittitian Calypsonian “Aba Lively” have died.
Both Wade, longtime reggae and calypso performer and Lively died after a brief illnesses on Wednesday June 3rd and Tuesday June 2nd respectively
The 6’8” Watusi was an imposing figure who endeared himself to many fans throughout the world especially visitors to Nevis who rave about their experience being guided on tours by the Watusi who was also a Taxi Driver and Tour Guide.
Watusi has been a fixture on the Calypso Music Scene for years and performed during the most recent carnival in St.Kitts .
Watusi also went by the Calypso name ‘By Surprise’ and has produced reggae albums some of which were recorded at Bob Marley’s famed Tuff Gong studio in Jamaica.
He is the brother of another entertainer and popular local chef ‘Black Hat’ .
Aba Lively as the name suggests was a lively entertainer and calypsonian who also served as an MC for local Calypso and other shows. Like Watusi he was a fixture on the local calypso carnival scene in the Tents
