BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, February 25, 2016 – The partnership between the Harmonites Sports and Community Group and the Ram’s Trading Ltd. which started in 1995 continues this year as Ram’s remains the main sponsor of the Hitters Senior and Junior Basketball teams.
Coach James ‘Barman’ Hanley expressed his gratitude to Ram’s. He said that “the continued support of the Ram’s Trading Ltd over the last 21 years has assisted in the holistic development of over 200 young people in the community through basketball. The Hitters Senior Team has achieved 19 championships in its almost 37 years of existence, 11 of those championships were achieved in partnership with Ram’s.” He stated that with sponsorship for the 22nd time, the Ram’s Hitters intend to add another championship to its dynasty.
Ram’s embraces their responsibility as a corporate citizen to support people and events in the communities of the Federation and Shaun Weston, General Manager of the Ram’s Trading Ltd., indicated his pleasure with the successes of the basketball team over the years and wished them well in the upcoming basketball season. He was further encouraged by the development of the Junior Hitters team which has played a major role in the restructuring of the Senior team. He also congratulated Coach Hanley on being awarded the Medal of Honour for his ‘Contribution to Sports and Community Service’ in 2015.
In 2016, the Ram’s Hitters will take part in the upcoming National Championships and is planning a Summer Coaching Clinic for boys and girls under 16, a tour to St. Martin and several other events to develop the team and honour past and present players.
