Team UNITY Candidates Jonel Powell and Vernon Connor were named Special Advisors in the St.Kitts-Nevis Team UNITY government.
The unsuccessful People’s Action Movement Candidates were both announced as Special Advisors in various Ministries which comes under the portfolio of Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Shawn K. Richards.
The Co-Deputy Leader of the People’s Action Movement Powell, was announced as Special Advisor in the Ministry of Sports and Culture while Connor was announced as Special Advisor in the Ministry of Youth.
Powell ran in the Central Basseterre seat and lost to incumbent Hon. Marcella Liburd by under 100 votes. Connor ran against the former Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas was the most successful non labour candidate in history of that constituency #6.
Both Powell and Connor are expected to provide support to Deputy Prime Minister Richards as well as the rest of the government and by extension the nation in enhancing the development of the country through the development of Youth, Sports and Culture.
