On Friday 11th January 2019, the AHA-Society and the Nevis Tourism Organization jointly celebrated the 262nd birthday of Nevisian born Alexander Hamilton with a flag raising ceremony and a service at the burial site in Manhattan NYC.
The annual birthday remembrance at Trinity Church, where Alexander Hamilton’s final resting place is located, took place in the church courtyard by Alexander Hamilton’s grave. Leading the program was the AHA Chapter President for Connecticut, Damien Cregeau. The ceremony included the participation of the US Coast Guard & Auxiliary and clergy from Trinity Church. The His Excellency the Hon. Everson W. Hull, Ambassador, Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, joined the celebration of their fellow Nevisian’s birthday. A Nevis Proclamation marking Hamilton’s Birthday was shared with those in attendance. Hamilton’s impact on visits to Nevis and current plans to enrich Hamilton’s birthplace site and develop new Hamilton exhibits was expressed during the presentation by the St.Kitts-Nevis Representative . The Museum of American Finance has a decades-long legacy of participating and contributing to this commemoration with the memorial wreath.
