Wednesday 24th January, 201 (St. Kitts) The St. Kitts Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) continued to proactively plan for Sugar Mas 47 by recently hosting a meeting with Fringe Activity Promoters.

On Tuesday 30th January, a meeting was held with some fourteen (14) such Promoters who are excited and geared up to host Events for Sugar Mas 47. The meeting was held at the SKNNCC’s Secretariat on Victoria Road.  Several executive members from the SKNNCC were present including Noah Mills, Chairman, Lester Hanley, Deputy Chairperson and Jonelle Rawlins, Marketing Chair, and Sharelle Flemming, Admin Assistant.

The meeting opened with the Chairman congratulating all long-standing and new Fringe Activity Promoters, emphasizing that each Event adds quality and variety to the Carnival Product.  Mills then singled out the new Events that were hosted for Sugar Mas 46, namely, Mid Night Mas, Jourade, Ms. Phenomenal Pageant, Blu Powder Fete, Glow Parade, Bachannal Fever Wet & Flag Fete, and the International Night, sprinkling halos and kudos on the respective organizing committees for their initiatives. Attendees were then given a Synopsis of Sugar Mas 44, 45 and 46.  Thereafter, the processes required to have Fringe Activities endorsed by the SKNNCC were discussed. Finally, a draft Sugar Mas 47 Carnival Calendar was displayed, with the Promoters present, noting the dates that they are planning to have their Events for carnival 2018-19.

In closing, Attendees were invited to a Town Hall meeting being hosted by the Minister of Culture, and by extension, Carnival, the Honorable Shawn Richards.  Said meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7th, at 7 pm.  It will be hosted at the NEMA Conference Room, in Lime Kiln, Basseterre.

The SKNNCC takes this opportunity to thank all who attended.
