Hon. Shawn K Richards, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister with responsibility for the Mitigation Council is joined by National Disaster Coordinator Abdias Samuel at a ministerial meeting on Disaster: Hurricane Preparedness and Resilience at U.S. Southern Command, today, 12th April, 2019.

The dialogue on Hurricane Preparedness and Disaster Resiliency was led by Deputy Secretary of the US Department of State, John J. Sullivan.Also participating in the discussion were Admiral Craig S. Faller, United States Navy, Commander, US Southern Command and senior officials from across the US Government, Including: the US Agency for International Development, the Federal Communications Commission, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Department of Energy.

Regional disaster agencies also participated in the meeting as well as the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).
