Machel Montano’s “Ministry of Road” is the winner of the 2014 Soul Train Award for Best International Performance!

In a statement via social media Montano had this to say on his historic victory “In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit , I give thanks !!!! Trinidad and Tobago this one is for u! Thank u to the creator , my Parents and brother, my kids, my friends, fans and supporters ! All those who voted and played a role, this is a triumphant moment for us, for soca, for T&T and the Caribbean. We did it again! To all those behind the Ministry Of Road!!!! I give thanks! Precision Productions, thank you all, HD family, HD band, HD dancers, all my crew, The M Store, the Junior Sammy group of companies, for making M.O.R a success! Dream Machine, my new MONK team, Dori and Naj for such a dope video, all the dancers that worked with ELLENYTT !!!! And all those I’m forgetting I give thanks!”
In addition to receiving the award, Montano was also a presenter. He documented every moment of his experience via his instagram account.

Montano’s award comes just weeks before his 40th birthday. Montano has also received three first round nominations for the Grammy Awards and is also nominated in four categories for the Live Music Awards in the Caribbean. Montano is nominated for: Best International Ambassador, Best Male Artiste, Best Live Performance and Best Song of the Year for EPIC.

The Soul Train Music Awards will be aired on November 30 on BET.
