The St.Kitts-Nevis Oppositon Dr. Denzil Douglas led Labor Party is once again coming in for harsh criticism over what many are describing as their immature approach to Opposition Politics. In their most recent propaganda campaign the Opposition party have been promoting the falsehood that since the change of government in 2015 that they have been consistently denied use of the Community Centers throughout the island. They went further to declare that there was some new unwritten policy not to give permission to the Opposition to conduct Meetings in the Government owned  Community Centers.However  Investigations have revealed that the records show that the Opposition have been consistently holding various activities in the Community Centers throughout the Island. Just a cursory glance at 2017 alone would reflect that the SKN Labor Party had quite a number of events at Community Centers after receiving the necessary permission from government. A small percentage of these Team UNITY Government granted Community Center events of the SKN Labor Party includes:

• 16th December, 2017 East Basseterre Labor Party annual  Christmas Party – Newtown Community Center.    
• 7th May, 2017 Constituency #8 Labor Branch Special Meeting- St.Peter’s Community Center
• July 17th, 2017 Constituency #6 Labour Party branch Meeting-St.Pauls Community Center
• February 2017 SKN Labour Party Public Forum- St.Peters Community Center
• May 2nd, 2017-SKN Labour Party Const 6 Branch Meeting- St.Pauls Community Center
• April 29th, 2017 – SKN Labour Party Const 8 Health Fair by Dr. Terrance Drew- St.Peters Community Center
• April 23rd, 2017 – SKN Labour Party Const 8 Monthly Meeting – Conaree Community Center

At the Prime Minister’s Monthly Press Conference PM Dr. Hon Timothy Harris blasted the Opposition , in particular MP Marcella Liburd and described her statements regarding the community centers as untrue and callous.

PM Harris declared ” I reject as dangerous frolic the unsubstantiated allegation by Marcella Liburd that the keys to the Community Centers are being held by the Office of the Prime Minister.  Such a blatant and callous lie from the former Minister for Social Development deserves to be condemned for the mischief it was intended to cause and the intellectual dishonesty of the former Minister who would posit such untruth even when one caller pierced a hole in her tissue of lies from his knowledge of how access is gained to the Conaree Community Centre. ”

The declaration of easily refutable statements by the Opposition Labour is further wounding their credibility as a viable alternative to the current progressive Dr. Timothy HARRIS led Team UNITY Administration. The fact that it only took a basic google search to totally refute and debunk the pronouncements and allegations being made by the Opposition Labour party can suggest to the average voter that they lack the political maturity necessary to be an effective and credible alternative to Team UNITY.

At the Press Conference PM Harris announced that a new Community Center Policy is being drafted and will soon be implemented . The Policy will ensure the widest possible use and proper management of the facilities throughout the federation.
