INSPECTOR GREAUX SUCCESSFUL ON HIS FIRST RSS ASSIGNMENT

Inspector Carl Greaux Successfully Completed; Exercise Planning and Design Course


ST. JOHN, Antigua – During the period 13 – 31 January 2025, at the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Base Headquarters, Camp Blizzard, the Regional Security System (RSS) Training Institute (TI) held an Exercise Planning and Design Course.

The aim of the course was to enable the participants of the RSS member states to become effective exercise planners and to utilized their experiences, skillsets and knowledge to create exercises that relates to the complex security environment in the region.

Police and Defence Forces of the member states representatives who were successful in completing the course are now able to, both individually and collectively, plan and participate in realistic exercises that are beneficial to them and the region.

Inspector Carl Greaux represented the RSS while (Ag.) Superintendent Reynold Myers and Sgt. Jase Henderson represented the St. Kitts-Nevis Police and Defence Forces, respectively.

Inspector Greaux highlighted that he had an opportunity to present to the gathering and to answer questions from Brigadier General Mr. Telbert Benjamin, the Chief of Defence Staff and other Senior Members of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force.

Furthermore, Inspector Greaux highlighted that his Syndicate, which is ‘Syndicate Three’ had the distinct pleasure to present to the High Commissioner of Canada to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean H. E. Mrs. Brenda Wills on the exercise that was assigned to them.

Inspector Greaux indicated that having done this course he is in a better position to coordinate agency, national and regional exercises in a security environment; discuss the fundamentals of an exercise and to effectively apply them to exercise planning; explain the exercise planning cycle and utilize it to plan and execute the required planning conferences; demonstrate the methodology for conducting site surveys in support of exercise planning; and conduct effective exercise out-briefs and after-action reviews.

The course was facilitated by five (5) military experts. Three (3) from the Canadians Joints Operations (CJO) and two (2) from the RSS. The course commenced with an informal opening ceremony and concluded with a formal closing ceremony.
