CARICOM Secretary-General and Mexican President congratulates St. Kitts and Nevis on 32nd Anniversary of Independence

“St. Kitts and Nevis has been a stalwart in the regional integration movement, always prepared to do its part to strengthen and further the interest of the Region,” Ambassador LaRocque said in his congratulatory letter to Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris.

Honourable Prime Minister:

On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) I extend hearty congratulations to the Government and People of St. Kitts and Nevis on the 32nd Anniversary of your Independence.

The strides that St Kitts and Nevis has made since that landmark day in 1983 have been impressive and the government and people have shown great resilience in maintaining a steady path in the quest towards a viable and prosperous nation.

As you celebrate this Anniversary, your theme, United in Building a Stronger Nation, is one that surely resonates with your fellow Member States in the Caribbean Community. St Kitts and Nevis has been a stalwart in the regional integration movement, always prepared to do its part to strengthen and further the interests of the Region.

I wish you all success as the country continues its thrust towards sustainable development that will not only redound to the benefit of the people of St Kitts and Nevis but also to the wider Caribbean Community”.

The President of the Republic of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto extended deepest congratulations to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on its attainment of the 32nd anniversary of independence on September 19.
In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, President Nieto said that his country wished to continue strong bilateral relations with the Federation.

“Mexico wishes to continue strengthening the solid friendship that characterizes our societies, through political dialogue and mutual understanding,” President Nieto wrote.
“In wishing for the prosperity of the noble people of Saint Kitts and Nevis, I wish to reiterate the assurances of my highest consideration,” he said.
Enrique Peña Nieto is the 57th President of Mexico. His six-year term began in 2012. A member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, he served as governor of the State of Mexico from 2005 to 2011.
