Team UNITY Government Gets 1st Anniversary Week of Activities Started with Massive WOMENS Conference
The Team UNITY Government’s 1st Anniversary Week of Activities couldn’t have gotten off to a better start than the UNITY Women’s “Woman 2 Woman” Forum.
Hundreds of women from both St. Kitts and Nevis showed up for the Women of Unity organized forum held Saturday 13th February at OJ’s Conference Centre in Buckley’s Site. The Conference was organized as a part of the Team UNITY Government’s 1st Anniversary Week of Activities.
Mrs Kaye Menon , Special Advisor to the Team UNITY Administration Mrs Eugenie Condor and Minister in the Nevis Island Administration Hazel Brandy-Williams Co-Chaired the event. The energy at the conference was electrifying, inspiring and uplifting.
Prime Minister Hon Dr. Timothy Harris and Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Shawn K. Richards both lit a fire at the inaugural forum when they delivered highly energized, dynamic and well received addresses to the huge gathering of women.
Highlights of the event included a performance by Calypso Queen Lady Diva as well as Minister Ian Patches Liburd who serenaded the ladies in the audience with a wonderful presentation in song.
The WOMEN OF UNITY has always been the backbone and a source of inspiration for Team UNITY. Their collective strength, wisdom and guidance enabled the growth , development and strengthening of Team UNITY during a most trying, testing and tumultuous period in the lead up to the 2015 elections . Their strength was ever evident and Saturday’s conference.
The conference touched on a number of issues mainly reflecting on the past year of the Team UNITY Administration as well as the future of the Administration and the Team UNITY Organisation.
Ministers of Government including the Deputy Prime Minister, the Honourable Shawn Richards, the Honourable Ian Patches Liburd, the Honourable Wendy Phipps, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton, His Excellency Ambassador Sydney Osborne, His Excellency
Ambassador Michael Oliver Powell, His Excellency Ambassador Sam Condor, His Excellency Ambassador Jonel Powell, Advisor in the Ministry of Youth Vernon Connor and the Honourable Hazel Brandy of the Concerned Citizens Movement were in attendance.
Organisers have indicated that the WOMEN OF UNITY “Woman 2 Woman” Forum will become an annual event .
