Dr. Timothy Harris: “I have never spoken about a third term”

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Allegations have been leveled at the Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris which claim that he is seeking to serve a third term as St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister.
These allegations have seemingly caused tension within the Team Unity coalition. Earlier this week, several listeners on WINN FM expressed concern over the status of the Team Unity Administration.
However, on Thursday, March 16, Dr. Harris in a press conference hosted by the People’s Labour Party, dismissed the allegations.
“There is no need for a conversation about a third term. I have never spoken about third term and there is no record anywhere about Timothy Harris and a third term and I, therefore, will have nothing to say about it…”
Prime Minister declared that he will support and endorse Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Shawn Richards as the country’s next Prime Minister and reiterated his commitment to that decision
“Elections are not due until 2025. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow and we are focused on a political agenda when the focus really should be on the people,” Prime Minister Harris added.
Deputy Prime Minister Richards and Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley took Prime Minister Harris to task recently about allegations of him seeking a third term which they say goes contrary to an agreement they signed prior to assuming office in 2015.
The Team Unity coalition is composed of the People’s Labour Party (PLP) headed by Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, the People’s Action Movement (PAM) headed by Hon. Shawn Richards, and the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) headed by Hon. Mark Brantley.
