Residents within the Marina Bay Area discovered the body floating in the Dickenson Bay waters around 7:00 am on Friday, and alerted the police.
The police, having arrived on the scene, found the body of a 26-year-old Venezuelan man dressed in a black sweat top and his boxers, floating in the water.
The body was pulled ashore with the assistance of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard Divers.
It was reported that he arrived in Antigua on the 18th of January and was granted time until the 29th of this month.
The police have not ruled out foul play into the matter, and are treating it as a homicide.
